Journey of Creating High-Quality Canvases

As part of efforts to enhance arts and culture through vocational skills, participants in the UNESCO-Alwaleed Philanthropies Project have entered a critical phase of training: crafting high-quality canvases. This hands-on activity is designed not only to equip participants with the skills to prepare their own tools but also to nurture creativity and expertise in their art.


The Importance of Canvas in Painting

A canvas is the foundation of every great painting. Through this training, the artists are learning modern techniques and using high-quality materials to create exceptional canvases. Participants are gaining valuable skills, including:

UNESCO & Alwaleed Philanthropies Project in Collaboration with ADEA: Promoting Arts, Culture, and Education through Vocational Training in Tanzania

On October 17, 2024, the UNESCO-Alwaleed Philanthropies "Crafting Change" project was officially launched in Tanzania. The initiative aims to promote community-based development through culturally-focused capacity building and technical and vocational training (TVET) in the country. ADEA was one of five selected grantees out of thirty-eight applicants, participated in the kickoff meeting. Executive Director, Saidi Chilumba, represented the organization and presented the project summary, titled "Enhancing Arts and Culture through Vocational Skills for Employment."
